End of Week 4 - Starting Week 5

Hello all! It is the start of Week 5 and I have Week 4 results...I am now...220 lbs. So, I lost the Thanksgiving weight that I put on and got back to 220 lbs. I just have to keep working out, that's the key. Diet doesn't play as much of a factor, I've found out. It is really all about staying active. Here are pictures of this Week 4 results! So, after 4 weeks, I've lost 9 pounds. Starting the 5th week now, hoping to get down to, at most, 217 lbs. by the end of the week - wish me luck!!!

End of Week 3 - Starting Week 4!

Well, I guess this has turned into a weekly blog...so...CHECK IT OUT EVERY SUNDAY/MONDAY FOR THE WEEKLY RESULTS!!! :) But, in two weeks when school is nearing the end, I will be able to post more. And, if you have any questions, feel free to ask about it; I will get back to you ASAP.

Well, bad news, folks...I took 1 step forward and 2 steps back this last week. It was Thanksgiving on Thursday and my girlfriend had hers on Saturday...so, two Turkey days this past week. That doesn't bode well for weight loss. I got on the scale last night and I weighed...223 lbs. I gained back 3 pounds. I am actually upset about that, but not TOO TERRIBLY upset. I just know that WEEK 4 will be better for me, and I am shooting for under 220 lbs. by the end of this week. I knew when I got started that both Thanksgiving and Christmas were going to be involved. But, I thought if I could do it during the hardest eating times of the year, I could do it anytime. So, alas, I am continuing the journey having lost 6 pounds total (from 229 to 223). Wish me luck and keep following me. I'm gonna do it; You wait and see! :) Peace!

PS - I still need to put pictures up. I will later in the week.

Another Week...Another Post...Week 2 Results!

So, I didn't quite live up to my 2-3 posts per week quota. But, I assure you, I have been living up to my diet and exercise quota because I just got on the scale and it said ... 220 lbs. So, I now have lost 9 pounds in 2 weeks (5 pounds last week, and 4 pounds this week)going from 229 to 220. It's amazing what 9 pounds can do because I acutally can notice a difference. It's great. I have cut out a lot of unnecessary carbs and maintained a pretty steady workout. And I'll reiterate...in 14 days, I've lost 9 pounds. Great!

I just took pictures of myself on my Mac, but it can't get the internet at my home so, alas, I am blogging from the home computer. I guarantee my pics of tonight will be posted tomorrow, though.

So...I'm starting Week 3 of transformation phase, heh. And, as you all are aware, a bountiful feast will be presented on Thursday, of galactic proportions. BUT...I will do my best to not stuff myself as usual on this particular day. I don't expect this upcoming week to be my healthiest and most strict week out of the 12, if you know what I mean, but I will do my best to keep working out, eat the healthiest stuff and drink LOTS OF WATER! You gotta take one day at a time with this. So important. So, I hope you enjoy the sporadic posts because there's 10 more weeks of 'em coming. Wish me luck! Peace, my pals!

Week 1 Results! Beginning Week 2 - Day 8!

It is nearly midnight on Sunday (almost Monday). So, it's been 7 days since I've begun my journey. I began last Monday at 229 lbs. So, Week 2, I just got on the scale and it said...224!

I was excited to see that. I lost 5 pounds in 7 days. I went from not working out at all and eating a lot...to working out 6 out of the 7 days and eating better EVERY day and the scale says I've lost 5 pounds. I don't think I'll be able to keep that weight loss up every week and I know I shouldn't, that's TOO MUCH to lose every week...but if you make a drastic change, you'll see pretty quick drastic results. Hopefully the next week or two I will see as good of results, but it will become harder for my body to lose weight. The dreaded plateau! I just have to keep active and eat better - THE KEY!

So, 1 week down, 5 pounds less! And I will post some pictures NOW. You can't expect to look much different after a week, but I see some slight differences already. My chin and my chest already look a bit more trim and my side-view stomach had improved. BUT, see for yourself.

Thank you all again for the support. It helps IMMENSELY...you have no idea.
If you have an exercise or dietary questions, feel free to ask! Keep tuning in, pals! Peace!

Day 7!!!

I haven't blogged it up in a few days, but I promise...I'm eating better and working out! Don't hurt me! :)
I went home on Friday, so I haven't been on the internet. (A weird phonomenon that occurs, I know) So, I've been lacking post but...TONIGHT...I'm going to weigh myself and post pictures. After Week 1 weight and pictures. We'll see how it goes!
It will happen at 2 am, to keep consistent, so stay tuned late tonight or tomorrow to find out the verdict. Wooo!
Thanks again, ya'll. Peace!

It's nearing bedtime of Day 3

It is almost 10:30 of Day 3 and I feel real good.

I worked out for over an hour with my friend Zach, doing Back and Biceps. Then at 5, I ran for an hour with my friend Chad to the park and back to his place. Got in some lifting and cardio - nice!

I ate very well today. For dinner I had a nicely prepared meal from my lovely girlfriend Tara - which was a Chicken breast with roasted green beans and a garlic white wine sauce...mmm mmm mmm. Twas good...AND LOW CARB! Woooo!

I am probably going to sleep pretty early tonight - I'm quite tired.

See ya tomorrow, bright and early (about 10 am, heh), of Day 4. Peace!

PS - WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is afternoon on Day 3!

I woke up late today and took my daily fish oil, flaxseed, potassium, multivitamin...mmm...

Then I drank a big protein shake and ate my low-carb yogurt for breakfast/lunch. ;)

I am going to workout with my friend Zach today, then I'm going to go run with my friend Chad. It's good to have motivational friends who are wanting to stay active, as well. It helps, A LOT!

Water! Water! Water! Can't stress that enough. Water is so damn important. I drank almost a gallon yesterday and I feel great (though I took about 6-8 pee breaks yesterday, heh).

I will update later tonight. Bah-Bye!

7:30 on Day 2

It is the evening of Day 2 and I did alright eating today. I don't think I ate quite enough yesterday, so...I kinda gorged tonight. I started out the morning with a big glass of water and a yogurt. For lunch I met my friend Zach at 'The Upper Crust' a nice little bakery in Columbia and had a big Greek salad. I had a piece of chocolate chip cake that my friend Alex gave me after the salad (She works there). So, that was a good lunch, aside from the dessert, but it was small and I was craving it - so I'm not upset. :)

For dinner I kinda grazed around the kitchen like a farm-raised cow, eating veggies, meat, hummus, cottage cheese and a yogurt. Kind of a lot, and I shouldn't linger around the kitchen and eat like I do sometimes. I need to get a portion on a plate and sit down and eat. So, not such a great dinner for me. But, whatever. I won't eat as much tomorrow. Take one day at a time. :)

I'm playing football tonight with my friends and that is always so much fun. And great exercise. Two birds...one stone. :)

Update coming tomorrow. Peace.

It's morning of Day 2! November 10th

It's almost 9:30 and I have to meet with my advisor at 10 to get class stuff sorted out for my last semester of college. Crazy, right? Yep.

I bought low carb yogurts, so I think I'm going to feast upon that. I will drink a big ol' glass of water. I found out that I just don't drink enough water throughout the day, so I'm trying to remedy that. I bought Fish Oil and Flaxseed Oil capsules at the store because I read that they are very healthy and can even promote weight loss*.

Alright, well, I will post later tonight after I've worked out and eaten more. Alright, peace er'body. :)

*not confirmed by the FDA. :)

Day 1 Evening

It is almost 7:30 pm on Day 1 and I have been pretty proud of myself today. I did some cardio this morning and I did evening cardio with my friend Chad, running from his place to the Rec Center and back (I think it's nearly a mile from his place to the Rec, so under 2 miles total). When I was at the Rec I did chest and triceps (Dumbbell Bench, Machine Bench, Pushdowns and Tricep Extensions) and did some ab work after we jogged back to Chad's place.

After my morning water and protein shake, I ate a handful of beef jerky around 12:30 before I went to study/classes. Then when I got back about 4 pm, I ate veggies dipped in hummus and some turkey. I am about to eat a little more and that should be it for the night. I've always got 5 calorie Jello to snack on! Whoooo!

I went grocery shopping today and bought a lot of meat and veggies. Way more than I usually buy. So that was good. Going the low carb route because I've lost weight on it before. It works for me. So, that's that. No breads, rice, cereal, etc. grrr... :)
So, I will post again tomorrow morning.

If any of you have advice for me, or you are needing advice - just comment, I like that stuff! :)

Thanks for reading! Peace, ya'll!

Noon-ish

It's almost noon of Day 1. I just stretched (which I think hindered more than helped, I am so un-limber it's ridiculous, heh) and then shot baskets at the apartment gym for about 10 minutes. Then, I jogged for about 15 minutes. Nothing too hard, just a little sweat and a little out of breath for a few minutes. Easy. And I've drank about 16 ounces of water and 1 and a half servings of protein shake. Feeling good. I have to do some homework and go to class soon. I'm planning to work out with my friend Chad this afternoon, so that should get a nice pump going. So, I'll update later today. Thanks for following!

It's morning! And I'm ready to get going!

It's 10:30 am (an extra 30 minutes never hurt anyone, heh) and I am ready to go begin my new life of health and fitness. For breakfast I am going to have a big protein shake and a big ol' glass of water. I have this great protein called Syntrax Nectar. It's great because it's PURE protein. It has 92 calories per serving and 23 grams of protein per serving. If you do your math, one gram of protein has 4 calories so...23 times 4...92! It's the best protein on the market.

After I eat and drink, I'm gonna stretch. Stretching will get my muscles ready and, hopefully, wake me up a bit.

After I stretch, I am gonna go jogging. Nothing too hard - I'm not trying to get completely out of breath - just to break a sweat. I'm planning to jog for about 15-20 minutes. Easy.

Alright, here we go!

Pictures...so I can be held accountable! :)

Here are some pics I just took on Photobooth. It is November 9th, 2009. Day 1 pics.

I'm fed-up!!! And I'm gonna do something about it!

That's right. I'm fed-up. I'm fed-up with the way I look. I'm going to be an actor. I'm GOING to be an actor and I am very overweight. In the competitive career I'm going to pursue, I can't look like Chris Farley's son. My family and friends have all been very supportive and I feel like I am letting them down by not having more self-confidence.
So, enough bitching and complaining - that's not my style. I'm going to work out for 12 weeks (during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, mind you) and I will see if I can't lose 30 pounds in the time. Today is November 9th. I start working out and eating healthier TODAY! November 9th! And by the end of the 12 week period (February 1st!) we'll see if I can't shed 25 or 30 pounds.
It is about 2 in the morning and I weigh...229 lbs. So, I will post about 2-3 times a week letting ya'll know what I've been doing (eating, drinking, exercising, etc.) I want to get myself weighing close to 200 lbs., if not less. I hope I do it, and I will work my hardest at it because I want to, I HAVE to...
I posted some pictures (BEFORE picture, as they say) showing my lovely bod. And by lovely, I mean lots to be desired. Honestly, it's embarrassing being shirtless and I really don't laugh at those white T-shirt swimming kids, because I feel very similar a lot of the times. I didn't want to put pictures up, BUT...I have to be held accountable, and showing everyone what I look like gives me incentive to get the work done.
Really, and hopefully, I not only want to help myself. But I want to help anyone who is a bit unhappy with the way they look and wants to shed some poundage.
So...I'm going to sleep and I'm going to get up before 10 am and workout!!! I will post before 10 am (motivation to get up) and let you know my plans for the day. Thanks for reading and everyone's free to post anything they like - about themselves, about me, if ya just wanna chat!
